NBA- the history National basket ball association was formed in 1946 in the north eastern and mid western United States of America as The basket ball association of America.BAA played its first game in first November 1946 in Canada and this was the first game in the history of BAA. During this time, BAA was not performing well compared with other independent clubs at that time.
In 1948, Baltimore bullets worn the basket ball association title and in 1949 Lakers won the title
On third august 1949, BAA merged with NBL to create the new basket ball association (NBA).
Since then, NBA has become the men’s professional basket ball association. It is composed of 30 member clubs. Twenty 29 of the clubs are located in United States and the other one club is located in Canada.
National basket ball association is well known for paying well its players .its players are the most paid sports men in the world.In the year 1950, the national basket ball association was integrated and this is the year when more African American players joined the club by many teams including chuck cooper. During this time, Minneapolis Lakers were the leading team, they won 5 national basket ball association championships and they established themselves to the best team.In 1957, Boston Celtics were the best , they were dominant in this year an d they won 11 National basket ball titles in 13 seasons. In the 1960s , the Boston celtic were dominant again. They won 8 championships consecutively from the year 1959 to 1966. This was the longest streak in the history of the national basket ball association league.
The boston celtic did not win in the year 1966 to 1967 but they won again in 1967-1968 season and they won again in the season of 1969. During this time, the national basket ball association continued to be strong.minnepolis lakers moved to los angels and the Philadelphia worriors moved to the city of Francisco. Syracuse nationals moved to Philadelphia.
From the year 1966t0 1968 the league was expanded from 9 teams to 14 teams. Chicago bulls were introduced, supersonics were introduced, the rockets were introduced , city thunder were introduced, bucks and phoenix suns were introduced. These teams made the national basket ball association even stronger than it was perceived.In the year 1967, the national basket ball association league was faced with an external threat when the (ABA) American basketball association was formed. There was rivalry between the two associations.some Superstars from National Basket ball Association moved to ABA, intensifying the rivalry between the two associations.The ABA signed in new stars in the year 1970, this is because undergraduates were allowed to be signed in.
NBA grew rapidly during this time with the aim of tying up the viable towns.from the year 1960 to the year 1974 NBA grew its franchises from 9 to 18 . following the season of 1976, ABA added 4 new partners to the NBA raising the no to 22.
The basket ball as remained the most likeable game with the rivalries intensifying.
the celtic and the lakers intensified their rivalry in the year 2008. they met in the National Basket Ball Association finals. lakers beat the celtics to win the game.
in the year 2010 the celtics and the lakers met in cowboy stadium.this was the largest match attended by a large audience.
